Hey all,
Thanks for Layoff Game, eight-way joint win was amazing. However, I have requested the room for a reason.
As I understood our strategy discussed in HR in Round One, Tara and Tomcat both had to be fired by Adam, to fulfill his 120M fired workers’ salary limit. This is why we all had to meet at HR again in Round 3.
However, in Round Two, I’ve been in Sales with David, Tomcat, Cherry, Sam and Nyx. And in the beginning of the round, Tomcat typed something like “PLEASE ANYONE FIRE ME ASAP”. (Nyx probably didn't see it because he missed rounds 2 and 3 and threads were locked instantly after the end of the round)
His winning condition was to make Tara lose. As Tara’s losing condition was to survive, and she was fired in R1, Tomcat already won and could be fired. However, if he would be fired by anyone, Adam could not get 120M cut goal and would lose.
It is fun, that we’ve got that kind of people here, but please – be careful with Tomcat.

That's interesting. However, if you think about it, Tomcat knew that there was no-one in that room that could fire him . I imagine that his post was just for show...

Yeah, I think it was more of a show, but it's definitely not bad to keep an eye on that kind of behaviour.
What do people think of this game?

I'm thinking just bid low $2-3 and you should take each round. As long as we have all fruits covered, we should be able to control reasonably well. Worst case scenario is we don't control a fruit and someone is able to win with bids of $4. But we can always change to keep that from happening too.

we want one person from our team on every fruit and we should just bid 1 in every round I think.
That way, no one can ever gain MORE than us, and it's very likely someone will end up in a situation where they gain less than us.
It's basically a lock.

well nobody can gain more, but we won't all tie for the win. I'm fine with bidding $1.

If we take Misty into our team, we've got all fruits.

should be easy to get Pete the win since he has 2x orange and I have orange. So I can always bid high on orange so he gets more on that one. Then I just bid $1 on watermelon to make sure I'm not last place.

Yeah, I think that'll work. Then, everyone bids 1$ on everything, Adam bids 5$ on orange.

I've got a plan. We can bid 1$ on everything in first round, but use secrets only on Tomcat's fruits, to make him suspicious. As I have got same fruits as him, I'll use Change, to make him look really suspicious.
