The + is the best bet, probably. It gives you 2 options after the Mystery Round 3 + and 10 ÷... 5 + (10 ÷ 2) = 10 and 5 + 3 + 2 = 10. Try for both of them, and you're almost sure to get one. You don't have to bid on anything else.
And yeah, I asked Mas about that at the beginning. Sorry, forgot to mention that. While I think 10 = 10 is technically an expression, it's also a very simple one that doesn't really work with this challenge.
Which leaves the current conundrum - do I bid 10 on 6 to block Nyx, in the expectation of blocking her on 4 +, or do I let her have it and block her on 4+? I'm leaning toward the former. Besides, without getting 6, I have no hope of an equation until 10 comes up, anyway. Which means you'd have a difficult ask of confusing Nyx. You'll still have a 10; assuming she wins the mystery round, she'll have 11. Which means you can beat her once, on either 3 + or 10 ÷. So basically you'll need to get her to block you with her 11 without using your 10, so you can still use your 10 to win one of them.
It also means Nyx would have to block you while getting 10 herself, to ensure a win... so would need to win 1x. Unless she's just going for garnets (which is also possible).

If she wins the 6, then I can't stop her from winning the "4 +" (if she wins the mystery cube), the only way would be for her to stop me from getting the "3 +", if I bid 10 (she has already used her 10, so would need to use the 11). Or, she could ask Adam to block me with his 10, in which case there's nothing we can do at all.
"4 +" comes before "10 ÷ " , which is unfortunate...thinking about it, Adam could block me either way. Perhaps the only way forward right now is to come clean after this round. You block her this time. I bid on the + in round 7 . At this point, I'm the only 1 who can make an expression, then we openly block every bid, we have enough numbers between us. Adam has "3", so we have to make sure that he can't get an expression. At the end, I'm the only player with an expression, I give the token of life to you, and nominate Nyx for the death match. She most probably picks misty, and we hope that it's one of those death matches where we can contribute and help her. Does that sound too risky ??

No, doesn't sound too risky. It is risky. But Adam and Nyx have made it very clear they're working together (and Adam's said nothing to me about the goal being to send me to the Death Match).
If we both make it through, and if Misty loses the Death Match (let's be honest, she probably will... unless it's something that can be planned out step-by-step before the match starts... but if it becomes a mindgame, Nyx vs. Misty, Nyx will win hands down), it'll be 2 vs 2 next match. Neither side would have a numbers advantage, so it would effectively be a one-on-one, and may the best side win. It's a risk - but anything right now is a risk. And if we need to do something risky (we do), I'd rather that not go against Misty in a Death Match, since I'm the one who encouraged her to join this game and after I so recently kind of played her hard in NatKat. Ha! Obviously if all goes wrong and Nyx wins/I am nominated for the Death Match, I'll challenge her. But if there's a way to avoid that (plus, it would get you more garnets - maybe the only person to win garnets this challenge, which would be great - it's to the point in the game where they're needed), I'm all for it.

I'm blocking Nyx. But I like psyching her out first. I'm sure she knows I'll block her, but I want to make her think that maybe I won't before I actually do it. <3 So give it another hour or so.

lol !! As a side note, you may have noticed that Mas has asked all of us to recruit a partner for the next main match. I distinctly remember an episode where there were 4 players left, and they each got a "partner", and the game was "scamming horse race", the difference being that in this version, only the partners got to place the bets on behalf of the players...

Yeah, I still don't know what to do about that. Everyone I talk to on IMDb is/was playing this game. Ha! I could ask someone in real life, but, "hey, will you join me in this online strategy game?" won't likely go over well with anyone I know. I'm not sure Mas would use Scamming Horse Race again, though. But it's possible. That's interesting, though - I guess it becomes a matter of communicating with your partner?
Maybe if I figure out who Gaston is before, I can ask them.

I originally thought Gaston was Thanasisk lol Mas said we couldn't ask anyone who was in this game, but does that include players who were in season 1? I've just thought, I could ask Eric

I've never really talked to Than. I've never talked to most people on the board, which makes guessing identities tough. Than never even crossed my mind, but now it has... Huh.
Yeah, you should definitely ask Eric. Someone you've worked well with for a couple games. I assume it's just this season - but since Mets and Nat are signed up to blog/have posted, I'm guessing they're off the table. Which sucks for me... Lolz.
Actually, Mas - can we recruit Mets or Nat for the challenge, or no?

Actually, if we could get a team of you, me, Eric, and Nat - that would be awesome. Hopefully.

You're the only one who can use anything in the next 4 rounds, so the only reason for anyone else to bid is to block you. Which should be interesting - to see what happens. I guess Adam could, but he'd really be relying on getting the final 10.
With the +, you'll be 3 away from 10. So worst case scenario, it's a matter of keeping anyone else from getting within 3 of 10.

yeah, I'm gonna bid on the "+"
Might as well do it now...Mas said it's ok to go ahead even if he isn't around to start a new round

We have a few rounds to go, so this is a tentative idea, but...
I'm going to try to convince Misty to use her 10 on the 1 x, so that to block her, Nyx will have to use her 11 (assuming she gets it). Since it is Misty and Nyx's only chance of getting 10. That way Nyx can't block you with the 11, so it's only worrying about Adam blocking you. There are a few rounds to build up to it.

Just presented the idea to Misty. If Misty wins the x1, or if Adam blocks her, and even if Nyx gets the 11 tile, either Nyx can't use the final 10 even if she gets it, or if she beats Misty's 10 on the x1, the highest she'll be able to use is a 9, and we can block that. Even Adam blocks Misty, Nyx still doesn't get it - and it'll then be easy to block Adam from getting closer than 3 away from 10, even if Nyx and Adam block your options.
Adam could still get 10, but he'll need both the 3+ and the 4+, and will need to use his 10 on one of those (making the other blockable).

Barring a miracle, I'm pretty sure our plan has worked. I got this message from Nyx: I merely replied that I thought the match was far from over. She has yet to reply

HA! Yeah. Once we see how the Mystery round goes, might have to pick our battles and throw them each one, to make sure we can block everything. x 1 and 3 + are the big ones early on... albeit if Nyx gets +3, it needs to be with her 11, so blocking the 10 is possible. Adam needs either 2 x or 3 +, and then 4 +. Which basically just means we need to get him to use his 10 for whichever of the first two he gets, so he can be blocked on the 4 +... shouldn't be hard.
I have Nat on board for the next challenge. So if you can get Eric or Than/someone you know will work well with you, we should have a powerhouse of a team.
