I'll post my move soon. I just want to make sure I've gone through every scenario with the cards first.

Question:
If someone were to trade Princess Annette, would that count as discarding her, or simply a trade?
Completely theoretical, and relies on having both King Arnaud and Princess Annette, which is unlikely. But just curious, just in case.

That would be considered a trade and not discarding it. So the person who has it and have to trade the Princess won't be out of the round.

For the sake of ranting, to organize my thoughts without wasting space with a Word document.
If Nyx had the Handmaid, she'd probably play it to keep herself safe while she got a better sense of what cards Pete/I have, to play the Guard. She doesn't have Priest Tomas (lolz @ me getting both). She could've gotten the other Baron and guessed I had the other both predicting my next move and to throw me off (you're not likely to guess a card you have, but it's actually a good play). Pete confirmed she doesn't have the Prince.
So, most likely, she has the Princess, King, or Countess (or another Guard, but I can't do anything with that). I figured skipping the King and going to the Countess will make it appear I have the King, but could also appear a bluff - having gotten rid of 2 lower cards, the Princess also appears to be a possibility. If Nyx has one or the other, she'll probably think I have the other.
If she has the Countess, she's out. If she has the Princess, gets the Baron, and uses it on me - Pete will see (with reasonable accuracy) that she has the Princess. If she thinks I have a higher number without her having the Princess, she's less likely to use the Baron on me, and more likely to use the Guard to guess incorrectly at this point. Etc, etc, etc...
We'll see how this works out!

Ugh, sorry about that.
Lolz, I finally got the winning card, and the only way I could've lost is if Nyx got the other Guard... then she had to go ruin everything. Totally no fair. Ha!

Arrhhhhh. Strategically, it makes sense to use it on Pete. He doesn't have the Princess or the King, because the King has been used, and I have the Princess. He doesn't have the Countess, because he got rid of the Prince - not the Countess.
The Prince is the highest rank he could possibly have. He either has the Baron or the Prince, and why would he get rid of his highest ranking card? So, he probably had 2 Princes.
But I don't want to take out Pete. I'd feel bad about that. Especially if I'm wrong. But if I'm right, then Nyx has no way of beating me and I effectively take out both of them.
Moral conflict. Give me a bit to think. I'll post tonight.
