Fingers crossed, no-one will skip in the first round, and from the totals we'll know exactly which characters have been picked by Nyx/Malachai/Javi
So far: Pete - Jiangshi / Gumiho Adam - Mummy / Zombie Nat - Vampire / Zombie Than - Vampire / Jinagshi Tomcat - Vampire / Zombie

Ha! Nyx skipped. Of course. I'd say it's worth giving her one round to see what she does before skipping back. Thoughts?

She will have her round, but we don't skip back and wait, she will have 2 rounds by the time we skip. At this rate, things could see-saw throughout the match. Now we need to decide on what we're doing this round. Do we go for a Vampire/zombie in 1st and 2nd, or do we keep our cards close to our chest, so to speak...The problem is that, if we make vampire or zombie or both move this round, nyx and adam are last next round, and if they want mummy to win for example, they make sure it moves and "piggybacks" the following round....very tricky

I've just had a thought...It might be an idea to try and move just 1 character this round (if we can manage it), either vampire or zombie. Ideally we can move it more than 3 spaces, perhaps 4 or more, but make sure it's the ONLY character that moves. This way, next round, we can just just let it play out (this way we find out for sure how many of each character are in play, as all 24 tokens will be revealed). Sure, Nyx gets 2 rounds of playing last, but we can do some damage limitations. Of course, this can only be if we manage to move just 1 character this round. Thoughts?

I think we should use this round as a feeling out process. Next round too assuming no one skips. I think it might be smart to focus on one character this round. Three of us have vampire and three of us have zombie. It also seems like a lot of people didn't pick Gumiho? We know for sure four of us didn't. I find it strange that Adam and that Malachai person both put it in the 3 spot.

Zombie is probably the best bet this round, as there's bound to be another one at least, and everything else is spread.
Also moving Vampire 1 spot is a very real possibility, depending on what Javi does and how many are available. IWhich is pretty much the goal here... we can make it appear to just be throwing them where they already are, and still move them. We could move one multiple spaces, but some of that will depend on what Pete and I draw. Keep in mind some coins won't be revealed this round, because Nyx skipped. Which means, even if we're certain of how many coins are available, there's no certainty we'll get them. I'd saw aim for Zombie moving 2, and then decide if Vampire or Zombie moves in the 1 space, too - IF Pete can get Zombie a lock on 2 with room to spare (bearing in mind if the goal is the block anything moving 3), and potentially enough left to outdo Vampire in 1 space.
Gumiho is tricky, because we know Pete has it and don't want him to lose. And it is interesting they're putting it in the 3 spot. Unfortunately, there's no way of being sure how many people chose Gumiho, since Nyx skipped her turn (thus skipped some coins). We'll see what Javi does... but that may be their secret weapon here. If that's the case, it may be worth it to switch strategies and focus on Jiangshi/Vampire/Gumiho, to give Pete and Than a chance (and hoping no one on the other side has 2 of those). idk. We'll see what Javi does.

If there's a way we could keep anything but Zombie moving for a while, that would be ideal... then near the end start bumping Vampire. But that's entirely speculative/not sure how well that could be guaranteed, especially without knowing everything in play because Nyx skipped.

With what I've been given, we can actually guarantee that zombie moves 2 and vampire moves 4 in this round. I would think this is ideal

OK, here are the totals for all the characters (we're missing 3)
Vampire - 4
Jiangshi - 3
Mummy - 6
Zombie - 4
Gumiho - 4
This is what we know:
Pete - Jiangshi / Gumiho
Adam - Mummy / Zombie
Nat - Vampire / Zombie
Than - Vampire / Jiangshi
Tomcat - Vampire / Zombie
Therefore, this is what's left from the 3 characters that weren't drawn and the 3 players we don't know, 9 in total: Zombie - 1 Jiangshi - 3 Mummy - 1 Vampire - 1 Gumiho - 3
With those calculations, it becomes even more unlikely that any of Nyx/Malachai/Javi have got a combo of Zombie/Vampire. We can wait until it's Tomcat's turn next round to decide if we want to skip or not (depending on how it pans out), but letting the whole round go by would let us know for sure all 24 characters in the "pot".
Looks like Vampire will move 4 , and Zombie will move 2. A pretty good start I would say

LOL! I just did that thing where, apparently, I skimmed some of the rules, thinking I already knew what to do, and was wondering how Vampire would move 4. Then I looked... with two characters tied in 3 spaces, Vampire moves instead. Ha. Glad I read through everything.

I'm throwing everything on the 1 space, just to try to deflect a little - rather than make it obvious I'm trying to boost Zombie and Vampire. Results are the same anyway, and that way all they can surmise is that I don't have Jiangshi (with maybe a little Zombie speculation).

So there's been 5 vampires already this round. So we know for a fact that none of the 3 unknown players have picked it.

Sorry everyone (and Mas) - long weekend, wasn't able to get online today until now.
Yeah. Looks like we kind of have a lock on Vampire. Should I skip or draw? Could play out this round and see everything revealed, or shift it back so that we have the power.

It may be an idea to skip actually. Now we know for sure that none of them have vampire. Perhaps letting them have 2 rounds in a row could be a disaster (even though zombie or vampire is likely to move 2 spaces this round). IF you skip this round, and Nyx skips straight away again, then what we could do the following round is get Than to skip (this way we have Nat and Than in the last 2 position) then even if Nyx gets malachai to skip, we then have me and you to skip before nyx gets a chance to skip again. By then, the race should be over.

Oooo... getting Than to skip to block Nyx skipping the following round is actually a good idea.
I'll skip. Let's see what she does. Good fun.
