I'm confused. How does Silence work exactly? I thought Nyx wouldn't have a turn until I did. What does Silence do, then?

silence just means she cannot use her special ability.

Hm. Interesting. So if I Silence someone before moving, they can't use their power? So, for example, if I Silence Rachael then move to her spot, she can't push me forward or backward, because she can't use her power?

yup, cos her turn is blocked so she can't use her power.

Sorry. I saw your message last night, but was on the verge of passing out. When I got up/walked dog/showered/was actually awake enough to check this morning, I was like "craaaaaap".
I didn't really see the need to Silence anyone, anyway. The only reason I opted to move 1 was for a reason to use the Silence (on Rachael - justifiable reason, so she wouldn't move me). Admittedly when I first read the ability, I thought the person Silenced wouldn't be able to move, which seemed like more of an advantage - a way to keep someone in last, or get them out of 1st. Disabling abilities doesn't have much use, except the possibility of countering Nyx making a deal with someone. But that is my goal next move, all the same. heh.
That said, I should be on a lot today to actually try to figure this out - my least favorite holiday (where every public space is occupied by a bunch of drunk pricks with flammables/explosives), so I'm basically just staying home to catch up on stuff.

Proper confessional - I've been lazy this game.
So, I came into this playing with Pete and Adam. Both are great. Admittedly, I haven't been quite as invested this game... maybe it's being annoyed with Nyx and Lukas, maybe it's being grumpy in general. To be fair, they've been perfectly fine the last few rounds. I'm really not sure. It's a great game... maybe I've just been busy and distracted.
It would seem Adam attempted to put me in last place, which I'm fine with. I just wish Rachael wasn't in first place - kind of pissed at Pete for that. Good play, I guess. But I don't trust them anymore. I guess that's it - I've seen this game as less of a strategy game than the first game... really more of a challenge game. Probably my fault for not treating it as more of an overall strategy game.
I've kind of figured Adam and Pete are working more closely with Nyx and Lukas than they let on. I could be wrong, of course - just a suspicion, from little moments like *this*. Maybe trying to balance both sides, and fair enough. I'm not all that concerned about going against anyone in the Death Match except Nyx. Not that I'm so self-assured I don't think I can lose, but I think the odds are in my favor. And I'm not as afraid of going against Nyx as I was going against Mets. The Death Match has a nice finality to it, really... good way to stay or go out.

Also, I'm curious to see who gets 2nd. Whether it's the obvious, or whether it'll indicate some deal.

Alright. I slept a ton today and am thinking more clearly.
There's a way for me to not lose, but it puts Adam or Misty at risk of losing. So I'm not sure I want to suggest it.
lol @ Nyx being a stickler for the rules, as written, when it works to her advantage. But when it's to her disadvantage (the rules did state that Silence made someone skip their "turn", not their "ability" - by the rules, Nyx should've missed her turn/not been able to move when I first Silenced her), she's fine with them being interpretive.
I'm thinking... I feel like there's something else there.

Alright... Adam needs to finish on this next turn or Nyx and I will beat him. So he has to move 4. Nyx won't likely reset him, or will leave him with 4 if she does, so I finish last. She could Reset Misty if Rachael moves her backwards, but again - not likely. I'll most likely lose. If Silence's ability was as it was written in the rules, I wouldn't - silenced Nyx the first round, could silence her again this round. Thus, I'm a little annoyed. I wouldn't have chosen silence if the rules read, "Before submitting a move card for your turn, you will pick a player and disable their ABILITY until Silence's next turn." Not to call you out, but that's not really fair... the rules say one thing (disabling a person's turn, not just their ability), but the reality is something that puts me at a disadvantage contrary to what the rules state (ie: my ability isn't the ability stated in the rules we were given when choosing our abilities). The rules even say that the move card is for the turn ("...a move card for your turn") - ie: "turn" = moving - and then says you disable another player's turn (not their ability). Changing that after the game started isn't really fair.

Sorry about that. A mistake on my part. I didn't realise I wrong it wrongly when I posted it.

I'm not trying to drag this out - but obviously my move ends it, anyway. I just want to see whether Adam *wants* to lose for some reason. If he doesn't, I'm losing.

I figured someone would give Lukas garnets. I'm a little please it was Nyx, and not Adam or Pete. I need to have more faith in people.
I kept all of mine partially for that reason (to make sure I had the most, regardless of how many anyone else gave him), partially in case the challenge allowed us to buy advantages with garnets, and partially just because it does seem fair that the Death Match winner actually win their opponent's garnets. If Lukas wins (he might - I'm far from certain I'll win), he'll have the most garnets in the game, and he'll deserve that. Lukas is a great player... my issues with him throughout this game aside, I have complete respect for him. He's a great player, and obviously a huge fan of this game (a bigger fan I am, though I enjoy it).
I'm arrogant as hell - I fully admit that. I'm really not even confident - I'm just arrogant, pure arrogance. Sometimes it's justified, and sometimes it's not. We'll see how it goes this time. But if Lukas beats me, it will be well deserved.
