We can't trade cubes or tiles, that's stated in the rules.
Even if I gave you my 2 garnets, there's nothing stopping Adam from giving Nyx some of his to put her back on top.
One thing that might work in our favour, is PEMDAS. Adam and nyx might not be aware of mathematical rules when it comes to progressive expressions. Adam already asked in the main thread about this, something like: 2+3x2=10 This is wrong! 2+3x2= 8! This is correct 3+2x2= 7 This is correct
6+1x4-2=8 Correct 2x3-1+4=1 Correct
Using PEMDAS, you have to observe mathematical laws. In a progressive expression, this is the order in which you apply the function: Multiplication / Division / Addition / Subtraction
Looking at the tiles after the mystery round, the only way she would win (win the 11 cube to ensure any tile) is if she had 1 or 5 or 6 "2x" 5 "10 ÷" 1 "4+" 6
So we have to ensure that she doesn't win those. Or, Ideally, if she goes for the first number "1", that might work in our favour, cause she would obviously be looking for tile 17 "10 ÷" , so we have until tile 16 to try and make 10. There are several ways to do this, but it would depend on Adam and Misty not blocking us.

Ah, sorry. I skim in the morning.
Hm. There are other possibilities, though... 3, +, and 4... then "3 +" (which involves neither 1, 5, nor 6). But that would require a lot, and we could block her. Or "6 -" 6 + 10. 8 divided by 1 + 2. There are too many options to realistically block her. I'm fully awake/not hating the world. I'll think a bit and let you know if anything comes up. The one thing

Interesting! I just logged on to find that Nyx had asked for a room, for Me her and Adam, title of thread "Shall we work together on this?" , first post- - how enticing lol ! This could work to our advantage though, if handled carefully. I'll simply answer "what did you have in mind?" , and update you with any news.

Update from room with Nyx and Adam:
Nyx:
it's only important that one of us get 10 as fast as possible.
That person can win and everyone else will tie because if you don't have an equation completed you are last.
and the winner gets to choose the DM candidate.
So basically, what I'm saying is we could rig the bids so we set up each of us to get an early equation that equals ten, and if they want to block us, they need to waste their blocks.
Which means we have more blocks than them and will guarantee succeed.
And no matter which one of us wins, like, 2 of the 3 of us will be safe.
And we can like, draw straws or roll a die or something for who gets the second token of life.
And then we probably send Tomcat to DM right? He's the bigger threat.
Nyx:
One of us should try and bid on 2 5 and X and another shouold try and bid on 4 6 and +

I'm gonna bid on the 2

Interesting.
I was going to say... the difficulty here seems to be losing your bid. If you bid first and someone beats you, even if you can bid more, you lose your first bid. If someone matches you, you both lose it.
So, I'll run this by you... basically, I block Nyx and Adam, or try to get them to waste bids... but let you have whatever you bid on. This won't necessarily seem that suspicious. If they wonder what's going on it, either you or I could use last round as an excuse - ie: you could tell them I was upset about Adam giving Nyx my greens and you're shocked that I'd carry it over to this round (how petty!), or - if need be - I can say it publicly. Which means they'd throw the win to you, since it doesn't appear I'm against you, and that I'm just on a vendetta to block them, and you're being very clever by hiding that all from me.
The problem is that they might guess that if I go to the Death Match, I'm challenging one of them, and giving up on the plan.
Any other ideas?

It's certainly an idea...If you want to go ahead with it, it might be an idea to block just one number, either 4 or 6. Since I'm going for 2, that only leaves 6+4 has an option to win "quickly". It also leaves 5 and "2 x" , but I'm sure misty will be on the lookout for numbers too.
I was gonna try and bid on : 2 "2 x" "10 ÷" (this is now possible since no-one bid for "1")
Thinking about it, it might be worth for you to block "4", then bid for "6" (it would be easier to win since , with the 4 being gone) Although there is a "4 +" later on.
We could also pull off some kind of stunt....like, you bid for the "3", and I block you straight away....this might throw them off that were are planning anything together this round. Thoughts? It's all speculation, there are so few numbers, and 5 players all trying to make 10. To be honest, I don't trust Nyx anyway lol

It seems 5 and 6 are the most crucial numbers, since they can form an equation equaling 10 both before and after the Mystery Round. 1 could've, too, but with more numbers/signs needed. Which means you can get 5 and 2, but they can't. And 6, I either need it or I need to block them from getting it. The rest don't matter so much (for my part in this).

Can numbers with signs be used in the order? ie: you could do (2 x 10) ÷ 2? I guess you can - makes sense.
I was actually hoping to bid on 1, but didn't want to bid first. And the bid ended at like 5am here... so I figured by the time I signed back on, it would either be upping someone else's bid or the round would be over (I was hoping for the former).
We can see what happens by next round. I can do a low bid on 3 and you can block me. I don't want to waste much on it, though.

Hi, We're now on number 5, Nyx has suggested that I bid for number 5....it might be an idea for you to either block or outbid me. Blocking would perhaps be better, then no-one would be interested in the "2 x" in round 12 (which I would need). It would also indicate that we're not working together. You good with that?

You could just do 2 x 5. Would they let you get away with that?
I'm fine with blocking or outbidding, provided your bid isn't too high (just looked... it's 3. That works). But if the goal is to reach 10 as fast as possible, they might let you get the x (if you're not sure of that, it's risky, though). If I take 5, there will be a war over the 2x, though.

Perhaps you're right...the only problem with 2x5 is if Misty gets in the way. I might just bid on the + instead...If you let me win the 5, you could bid on the 6. At least then you would have a number, and the option of going for the "4 +" further down the line if events take a turn for the worst. Does that sound better?

Yeah, with the 6, if nothing else, I could easily get an equation. Misty might be MIA for some of this. With the 2 + 5, you could also pick up the + 3. If Misty doesn't go for the 6, she has no reason to go for the x, as it wouldn't help forming any equation. So if she doesn't pick up the 6, you're probably safe going for the x - if Nyx lets you. But if Nyx blocks you on that to form an equation, I'd gather she's likely to block you on any other equation.
I purposely didn't block Adam getting the 3, that way it looks like I'm only blocking Nyx. Which makes it look like I'm only against Nyx, not you and Adam. That way she'll feel comfortable throwing it to one of you (read: you), assuming you'll give her the 2nd token and the because clearly I'm not gonna challenge Adam if I'm not even blocking him. Let's me save more tiles to block with, while also looking like I'm against Nyx, rather than working with you.
If that doesn't sound good, still a few hours. I have an alarm set for a little before the deadline to see what's happening then.

Hey, just to let you know, I asked Mas the following question:
will one number on its own constitute an answer or "progression"? the answer was NO !
In other words, you must have at least one symbol and two numbers. Which means that bidding on round 20, which is "10", if you have that on its own, it doesn't count!
I'm gonna bid on the plus sign in the next round, cause I don't believe for 1 minute that Misty (who is active after all) will let me have the multiplication sign...safer to go down that route: 5 + 10 ÷ 2 = 10 . By then, hopefully you'll have a progression, while Nyx and Misty will have nothing....I think Adam will have opportunities to make one before I make 10 . How does all that sound? Hope you get the "6", that would help matters

The fact that Nyx bid 10 for the "6" speaks for itself. If she really intended to let me win with 5x2, she would not have bid for it. Now her plan is to win the mystery round, then be clear to win the "4 +" a few rounds later....
I'm gonna still be for the "+" . If I don't and either Nyx or Adam block me if I bid for the "x", then I'm screwed.
I've just re-read the rules, and there's no mention of an extra token of life for the winner....Just that the winner will pick the death match candidate if there are multiple losers....
EDIT: Mas must have seen this post, cause he just posted that there is an extra token of life for the winner lol
